If an experience’s worth is measured in how much one learns, I’m about to have the worthiest experience of my life. Not only am I going to be learning how to write – how to write proper, that is – but I get to figure out how the hell WordPress works. To anyone who visits this site, feel free to shoot a message through the contact page if something isn’t working right or just looks lame.
At this time my goal is to write 500 words per day and post them in little snapshots. They might be lame but I need to figure out what and how my writing voice works. I hope to increase this number to 1,000 within a few months. While this is ongoing, my goal is to plot out a longer story, maybe 5,000 words, and publish it in 1,000 word blocks every couple of weeks. These will be edited and hopefully of higher quality. Once I complete my first serial, I hope to start a new, longer one, ad nauseam, until I have a novel.
In the words of Bilbo Baggins, Middle-earth’s premier adventurer: “It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out of your door… You step into the Road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there is no knowing where you might be swept off to.”
Fortunately, I’m not going out the door for this adventure. I don’t even have to get off my ass.
